Christmas was celebrated by children on December 25, 2016 at basement Dhyan Mandir in Noida Asharam with around 150 children. Colourful flowers, stars, and a Christmas tree lit up and adorned with gifts made the festive spirit come alive.
Swami Vasudevanandaji started the function with opening prayers and invocation to Jesus Christ and lighting of the candle. The cultural program was opened with a carol, and two girls from Children Sunday Satsanga anchored the program. A mesmerizing cultural program followed along with bhajans and devotional songs. A skit based on the story of a drunkard and a sadhu named Bhadrak was presented beautifully. The story of the Christmas tree showed the significance of humility. A dialogue between a Guru and a disciple on forgiveness explained the true meaning of virtue.
Swami Vasudevanandaji appreciated the children who brought their money banks, which were gifted to them last Christmas Day, filled from their pocket money as was advised to them. Swamiji accepted their offerings and put them at Guruji’s feet. He also praised greatly the confidence and hard work of the children and encouraged them to attend Sunday school/ Children Satsanga regularly.
After the closing prayer, Santa Claus enthralled the children with his shower of candies and chocolates whilst dancing. After pushpanjali, children were given gifts and cake by Swamiji and they then proceeded for Guru langar.
