On the day of monthly long meditation in September, devotees of YSS Delhi Kendra benefited from an enlightening satsanga by Swami Pavitranandaji.
Speaking on the topic 'How to live a worry-free life,' Swamiji drew active participation from the devotees in his talk which made it memorable and enriching for all present.
He shared his life experiences and how the only thing that came to his aid time and again was - Guruji’s blessings. Swamiji quoted statistics based on research that 99.9% of the times, the things we worry about never actually happen. He compared worry with the act of praying for something which we do not actually want in our lives. The only way to combat worry was with absolute faith in God and Guru.
Further, he said that there is an inverse relationship of faith and worry: the more the faith in God, the lesser the worry that can bother us.
Then he asked the question which most people dwell upon: How to increase this faith in God, how to surrender our problems, and how to just keep on trusting him more and more.
Swamiji said the only way we can increase our faith is by meditating. Meditation is the key to our treasure of Divine consciousness.
Apart from meditation, we need to focus on our attitude which will lead us to a happy life. “Take responsibility of whatever is happening in our lives”
Swamiji emphasised that we need to be brave and take ownership of all that we encounter today in our lives. Good, bad or ugly - whatever it is today - we need to understand that it is we who have invited that in our lives. Either through karma, hard work, right decisions or whatever else, it is we who are responsible. We cannot blame God for anything that goes awry. As the dear children of God, we must realise that He possibly cannot harm us ever. The moment we take responsibility for all that we are reaping today, we would have a paradigm shift in our attitude. This attitude of gratitude will help us sail smoothly in the whirlpool of life.
Guruji will never fail us, assured Swamiji. We need to allow Guruji to become a part of our lives, and we need to involve him more and more in all our endeavours.
Employing several anecdotes and humorous instances from his life as well as inspiring fables, Swamiji left everyone with food for thought to inspire them to rid their lives of worry.
With the close of the satsanga, the monthly long meditation resumed. Swamiji distributed prasad to the devotees at the scheduled time of the break.
